"My father, Ermon, loved Habitat. After 38 years working for AT&T he spent his last 15 working years as executive director for Habitat in Williamson County TN. He once told me that he considered those 15 years as his “real career.“ When he passed away suddenly on Christmas Day in 2011, I was given his already 10 year old 2001 Toyota Camry. This was the car he used to drive to so many job sites and Habitat meetings throughout the years. I gave it to my son who had just turned 16 as his first car. After a couple of years, and a few dents and dings later, he got a different car and I continued to drive Dad’s car, thinking it would finally quit working soon.
Fast forward to this year and the now 20 year old Camry was still going like a champ. When I finally decided to move on from it, my wife and I could think of no better group to donate Dad’s car to (it was always his) than Habitat For Humanity, the organization he loved so much. A 20 year old car probably isn’t worth much money wise, but it just feels like it ended up where it always was meant to be."
