The Holston Habitat ReStores accept donations of gently used furniture, appliances, housewares, electronics, and building materials which are then processed and sold to the public. Clothing is not accepted. To schedule a FREE donation pick-up, call 423-335-5573.

Volunteer at the ReStore
The ReStore relies on the support of volunteers from the community to be a valuable resource for our customers. As new donations are coming in every day, volunteers accept donations; assess the usability of donations; clean, assemble, repair and price donations prior to stocking; stock donations on the sales floor; and keep the store inventory organized and clean. Volunteers are subject to background check.
Volunteers are needed for the following positions:
ReStore Truck Driver
This position is responsible for driving the ReStore truck to pick up donations from individuals and businesses. Responsibilities include the pick-up of merchandise from donors, safely packing the merchandise in the ReStore truck, returning to ReStore and unpacking merchandise and the ability to decipher a good donation vs. items we do not take. Requires a valid driver’s license and clean driving record. CDL license is not required. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time.
Donations Loader & Unloader
General duties include load and unload all donated materials, screen for product usability, safely packing the merchandise in the ReStore truck, returning to ReStore and unpacking merchandise, communicating with ReStore Manager regarding incoming donations, maintain an effective working relationship with ReStore staff, volunteers, Habitat homeowners and ReStore customers & daily cleaning and straightening of ReStore drive-thru, keeping it neat and clean. A driver’s license is not required. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time.
Our phones are ringing off the hook, and we need you! The Donations Coordinator needs help handling all incoming phone calls, making confirmation calls, conducting donor surveys, and entering information in Excel. Comfort with talking on the phone is a must! We will provide plenty of training to make sure you feel comfortable in your volunteer position. Requires at least one 4 hour shift per week.
The items sold in our ReStore are given to us as a donations. We are constantly accepting and looking for donations. The donation procurement associate would assist in reaching out to local businesses, individuals and the community seeking good quality donations. Duties include engaging the existing donor base, cultivating new donor relationships, and ultimately increasing ReStore profitability.
The front register staff are the first people a shopper sees at the ReStore. We’re looking for folks who like to interact with people throughout the day and feel comfortable running a cash register. Experience running a register is not required, just a desire to learn!
Join our dynamic, energetic team to help keep the ReStore running smoothly! Work with the managers, staff and other volunteers to manage one or more sections of the store, keep donations moving through our stock room, and get donated items priced and ready to hit the floor. You can also help keep store sections stocked and tidy, or assist with customer service by serving as a resource to shoppers on the sales floor.

Free pick-up is available for large furniture, appliances, and building materials. All donations are tax deductible.
